The Story Behind Suu Balm

The Suu Balm brand was developed by Dr. Tey Hong Liang at the National Skin Centre in Singapore, a center renowned for its outstanding achievements in the research and treatment of skin diseases.Dr. Tey Hong Liang recognized that existing moisturizers and skin creams were unable to adequately (1) quickly relieve itching and (2) effectively hydrate and nourish the skin, so he decided to develop a new solution.

Dr. Tey Hong Liang combined the natural itch-relieving and cooling properties of menthol with high-concentration ceramide moisturizers—which help repair the skin’s natural barrier—to create Suu Balm’s classic moisturizing balm.In 2015, he partnered with Good Pharma Dermatology, a company founded by Dr. John O’Shea and Jason Humphries, to jointly expand Suu Balm’s reach globally.

All Suu Balm product lines use only carefully selected ingredients that have been scientifically proven to deliver superior performance, with the primary focus on meeting customer needs. Clinical studies conducted at the National Skin Centre in Singapore have demonstrated the products’ safety and efficacy.The results showed that over 90% of participants experienced relief from itching within five minutes of applying the product, and over 90% of Suu Balm facial wash users appreciated its moisturizing and gentle cooling effects.

Today, the Suu Balm product line includes face creams, body lotions, cleansers, sprays, and even a line of products specifically designed for infants and toddlers, and the company is currently developing more innovative and eco-friendly products.

Developing a fast-acting anti-itch formula

Dr. Tey Hong Liang, Chief Dermatologist of the Itch Treatment Department at the National Dermatology Centre in Singapore, spent years of research developing the most effective formula for treating itching.After countless trials, he discovered that a combination of menthol and moisturizing ingredients capable of deeply hydrating the skin provides rapid relief from itching. With daily use over time, it helps soothe the skin.
